On December 19th, the Foundation will hold a team away day, during which our team will be unavailable. Following this, resources will be limited as staff take seasonal leave, and the Foundation will be closed from December 24th to January 2nd for the festive period.

During this time, responses to phone calls and emails may be delayed. We appreciate your understanding and patience.

We wish you a joyful and safe holiday season.

The Foundation are looking at enhancing its reputation after appointing a branding expert to its Board of Trustees.

Naeem Alvi has joined the  Foundation’s Board after being headhunted by current Trustee Liz McKenzie.

Naeem will look to enhance the Charity’s branding on a regional and a national scale.

He said:

“I’m very excited to be joining the Heart of England Community Foundation – I have worked in advertising and branding for a decade and felt it was time to support a group which really benefits our local area.

“When Liz told me about the work that the Foundation does, I was very surprised by its reach and the diversity. It awards grants to worthy groups all over Birmingham and the West Midlands that its donors most likely have never heard of.

“My goal is to help it build its brand so that more people and businesses know about us. I’m also looking to help the Board plan more strategically when it comes to marketing.

“The Foundation is doing so much amazing work, and I really want people to hear about it.”

Naeem currently runs his own business, Notepad, which focuses on helping businesses and fast growth start-ups improve their branding, marketing and business strategy.

Phil Ewing, Chair of  Trustees of the Heart of England Community Foundation, said:

“Naeem is a wonderful addition to our Board of Trustees.

“We are looking to continue to grow significantly and we’re confident Naeem’s branding expertise will help us get to where we want to be.

“It’s an exciting time for us and we are already working with him to get people talking more about the Foundation both regionally and nationally.”
