Festive Period Notice

On December 19th, the Foundation will hold a team away day, during which our team will be unavailable. Following this, resources will be limited as staff take seasonal leave, and the Foundation will be closed from December 24th to January 2nd for the festive period.

During this time, responses to phone calls and emails may be delayed. We appreciate your understanding and patience.

We wish you a joyful and safe holiday season.

Create a legacy.

Our ambition now, and forever, is to #DoMoreLocal.

Working with our donors, we award money to local community organisations supporting a variety of themes. We know local people have the talents, skills and knowledge to tackle the issues affecting their communities. We have the expertise to work alongside them, providing vital investment to make positive change a reality, leading to healthier and happier communities.

We know organisations across our region want to do more locally, one way to do this is by working with us to set up charitable foundation. With our knowledge and expertise, and your desire to do more, we are able to simplify the process of setting up a foundation and create maximum impact with a legacy to be proud of.

Who’s done it?

gbpartnerships – Connecting in 2019 we helped gbpartnerships set up the gbpFoundation which supports projects in Birmingham, Coventry and Liverpool. As a foundation they’ve really embraced supporting projects with their expertise and time; as well as grant awards! Our knowledge has enabled them to support groups financially and physically! Coventry Building Society – In 2012 we took over CBScharitable foundation which they had been managing since 1998. As the building society began to struggle with handling various applications the Foundation was best placed to take it to the next level. Over £260k has been awarded since. More info.

Wesleyan Assurance – Our largest donors, Wesleyan worked with us to set up The Wesleyan Foundation in 2017, since then together we have distributed more than £3m to 541 projects across the UK using the UKCF network. More info.

What they said:

“Sincere thanks to our wonderful partners at the Heart of England Community Foundation. Tina Costello and her team continue to work tirelessly to make every penny of Wesleyan’s investment into our communities count. This year has been no different and they have supported the distribution of funds which will impact over 45,000 individuals across the UK.”
– Nathan Wallis, Chief of Staff, Wesleyan

“As a Midlander, I wanted to help local charities and good causes where relatively small sums of money can have a large and immediate impact on individuals. HoECF answered all these  requirements perfectly. I discovered it would be possible to establish my own Foundation under its auspices. This would result in lower set up and running costs, and no administrative burden compared with doing it myself. I would benefit enormously from working with a really friendly team of charity professionals.”
– Graham Griffiths, Private Donor

“Using HoECF allows us to draw on their vast experience and local understanding to ensure that financial support was going to those grassroots organisations that do such great work in their communities. HoECF acts as a connector for us and really allows us to engage with those organisations and see for ourselves the difference that our grants are making to those communities.”
