Festive Period Notice

On December 19th, the Foundation will hold a team away day, during which our team will be unavailable. Following this, resources will be limited as staff take seasonal leave, and the Foundation will be closed from December 24th to January 2nd for the festive period.

During this time, responses to phone calls and emails may be delayed. We appreciate your understanding and patience.

We wish you a joyful and safe holiday season.

The Foundation expands its board to welcome local entrepreneur and community leader, Cleo Morris, as a trustee.

Recently named in BuisnessLive West Midlands’ 35 under 35, Cleo is the Managing Director of MyDine Catering Services, who provide corporate catering across Birmingham and the Black Country. The 28-year-old is also the Founder and Director of Mission Diverse, a not-for-profit organisation aiming to improve diversity and inclusion.

With a passion for community and excellent knowledge of equity, diversity and inclusion, the new recruit will help drive the Foundation in achieving its strategic aim of becoming a more equitable, diverse and inclusive funder.

Cleo’s input will be vital, and the Foundation are confident she will help ensure communities, organisations and people across the region are correctly served.

On her appointment, Cleo, said:

“I want to give back. I want to diversify the people that the Foundation support and the people they engage with.

“It is my first position as a trustee, and I want to help the Foundation grow. I want to be able to get involved and support local people. I believe the Heart of England can help me do that right across the West Midlands, especially within the areas that need it most.”

Cleo will help build on the Foundation’s record-breaking year in which it awarded over £5.6m to 1,200 organisations across the West Midlands and Warwickshire.

Current Foundation Chair, Phil Ewing, said:

“I am delighted that Cleo has agreed to become a trustee, aside from her youth and enthusiasm, she brings with her detailed inside knowledge of the needs of the Birmingham and Black Country regions through her work with a broad spectrum of community groups – it is great to have her join our very diverse Board.”

Tina Costello, Foundation Chief Exec, said:

“Cleo is our first trustee to come from a community focused background and she’ll be a vital member of the team. What she has already achieved in her career is nothing short of fantastic and as an organisation we look forward to growing because of her knowledge and dedication.”
