Festive Period Notice

On December 19th, the Foundation will hold a team away day, during which our team will be unavailable. Following this, resources will be limited as staff take seasonal leave, and the Foundation will be closed from December 24th to January 2nd for the festive period.

During this time, responses to phone calls and emails may be delayed. We appreciate your understanding and patience.

We wish you a joyful and safe holiday season.

As part of the Foundation’s Community Matters programme, WELL provide a selection of activity linked to employment opportunities within the leisure and tourism industry.

Working with participants they provide individual support covering CV writing, confidence building and interview skills as well as offering accredited courses and qualifications, mentoring and support to help them find placements.

Someone to have benefitted from the service is Victor, he said:

“I had a rough time having been laid off from my job and I was really down in confidence. I wanted to join the programme because I didn’t know whether I could get another job in the transport industry. I wanted to gain skills and confidence in a different sector.

“I had specific 1-1 support with improving my CV, improving my confidence when filling out applications and was able to see how I could use my skills in different sectors.

“I didn’t want to join the course and I was really nervous. I wanted to walk out but the staff sat with me and convinced me to stay. I’m so glad I did. I gained a qualification in a different sector and I can use the skills everywhere!”

Not only did the support and qualifications offer new opportunities, it gave him the chance to secure an improved position at his previous company:

“With the confidence I gained I went back to my old employer and asked what I could do. They rehired me as a Warehouse Manager. I’m much happier now.”
